On 23 June 2020, the new MACH Alliance was officially launched. Made up of a group of independent, future-thinking tech companies. The alliance advocates for open, best-of-breed technology ecosystems. You can read more about the launch of the MACH Alliance here.

What is MACH?

The MACH Alliance takes its name from an acronym that represents the four main differentiators of the architecture they advocate for — Microservices based, API-first, Cloud-native SaaS, and Headless.

MACH is a not for profit industry group. Their mission is to encourage enterprises to switch from traditional single-vendor application suites to a more composable, best-of-breed architecture.

Why? Because these single-vendor platforms can put organizations at risk of vendor locking-in and bloated legacy technology stacks, restricting their ability to address rapidly changing business requirements.

Why Fluent cares and why we think you should too

At Fluent, we believe in the power of flexibility. MACH gives companies the flexibility of being able to pick and choose software vendors, like us, to build their own technology ecosystem. And they can do so with the confidence of knowing that each provider meets MACH standard and they will work together nicely.

MACH technology allows businesses to keep innovating, adapting, and to remain truly agile. It gives them the ability to make quick changes to parts of their architecture without the expense and upheaval of starting from scratch.

Going MACH is the only way for companies to totally future-proof their architecture.

What companies form the MACH Alliance?

The MACH Alliance has 14 inaugural members, all well-known names in the digital technology sector, led by vendors Contentstack and commercetools plus digital agencies EPAM and Valtech. Those companies were then followed by us at Fluent Commerce, Algolia, Amplience, Cloudinary, Constructor.io, Contentful, E2X, Frontastic, Mobify and Vue Storefront.

All these companies have something in common, and that’s the belief that the interoperability and open architecture of modern software will propel current and future digital experiences.
