Fluent Commerce Introduces Team-Based Gamification for Store Fulfillment
New leaderboard capabilities help motivate store teams and improve fulfillment performance without sacrificing control over where orders are fulfilled.
SYDNEY, Australia — March 11, 2026 — Fluent Commerce, a leading global provider of distributed Order Management Systems, today announced new leaderboard-style gamification capabilities for Fluent Store, its store fulfillment application. The new functionality is designed to help retailers motivate store associates, encourage teamwork, and improve the speed and accuracy of store fulfillment.
Retailers increasingly rely on store associates to pick, pack, and prepare ship-from-store and buy online, pick up in store (BOPIS) orders alongside their other responsibilities. Fluent Commerce often hears from customers that incentivizing store associates to work together as a team to optimize fulfillment performance can be a challenge.
The new gamification capabilities are designed to help address that problem. Real-time, team-based leaderboards can track fulfillment metrics such as average picking speed and orders processed, giving store teams greater visibility into their performance and creating opportunities to recognize progress and achievements.
“Stores have become an increasingly important part of the fulfillment network, but getting an entire store team engaged around fulfillment performance isn’t always easy,” said Graham Jackson, CEO of Fluent Commerce. “Our customers tell us they want ways to motivate associates and recognize strong performance without creating behaviors that work against their broader inventory and fulfillment strategy. Team-based gamification gives them another way to do that.”
Importantly, Fluent Commerce’s approach does not require stores to compete to claim individual orders.
Some gamification models reward whichever store or associate accepts an order first. While that can encourage fast action, it can also mean that fulfillment decisions are driven by competition rather than by what is best for the retailer’s network.
With Fluent Commerce, the retailer continues to control which location should fulfill each order. Fluent Order Management can determine the optimal fulfillment location based on factors such as inventory position, inventory turns, proximity to the customer, delivery cost, store capacity, and other business priorities. Gamification can then motivate the team at the selected store to execute that order efficiently.
This separation allows retailers to encourage store teams to improve fulfillment performance while still optimizing inventory and fulfillment decisions across the entire network.
By combining intelligent order sourcing with team-based gamification, Fluent Commerce helps retailers align store associate engagement with broader operational goals while delivering on their customer promises.
