Fluent Commerce Adds Support for Multiple AI Coding Assistants

Fluent CLI now works with Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and Cursor to help developers build custom rules, workflows and UI components faster.

SYDNEY, Australia — May 27, 2026 — Fluent Commerce has expanded its developer tooling to support multiple AI coding assistants, including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot and Cursor.

The update allows developers to use their preferred AI coding assistant when building, testing and deploying custom extensions for Fluent Order Management.

AI coding assistants can significantly speed up software development, but they often lack the context needed to work effectively with specialised enterprise platforms. Fluent Commerce addresses this by giving supported AI assistants structured context about the Fluent platform, including its architecture, configuration formats and development standards.

This means developers can use natural language prompts to create and modify Fluent configurations, order sourcing rules, workflows and UI components. The AI assistant can generate code that follows Fluent standards, helping reduce syntax errors, rework and debugging time.

“By supporting multiple AI coding assistants, we are giving developers more choice while helping them work faster,” said Nicola Kinsella, Chief Strategy Officer at Fluent Commerce. “They can use tools they already know to create and refine custom logic using the same formats and standards they would normally work with by hand, but with the added speed of AI.”

Developers can, for example, ask an AI coding assistant to create a new order sourcing rule or scaffold a complex workflow for the Fluent Store fulfillment application. Instead of spending time writing repetitive configuration code, they can focus more of their effort on the business logic and order orchestration that differentiates their operations.

The new capabilities are available through the Fluent developer CLI and are designed to make it easier for development teams to extend Fluent Order Management using the AI coding tools that best fit their existing development environment.
